I drive by your building at (PROPERTY ADDRESS) every day. I can see that it is beautifully maintained and that a lot of care is given to its upkeep.
I am writing in the hopes of encouraging you to add native plant species to your landscaping. By using native trees, shrubs, and flowers, you:
Provide habitat for local pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, and birds.
Reduce costs of watering, pesticides and mowing.
Beautify the space, with a garden buzzing with activity and blooms.
So much habitat has been developed that there is very little food and shelter left for pollinators. Did you know that 30% of birds have disappeared in the last 50 years, primarily due to loss of habitat? And bee and butterfly populations across the country are also struggling.
Every little bit helps and creating a native plant garden would make a big difference locally, especially if you avoid pesticides, which harm insects and the birds that eat their caterpillars. A native plant garden would also be beautiful and something to be enjoyed by all the people in your building.
