About Me

My name is Thomas Loftin, and I have been an educator since 2007. I have taught 2nd, 4th, and all middle grades. From 2020-2023, I served three years as Greene County Schools' 6-13 Instructional Technology Facilitator. Currently, I work at Greene County Middle School as an Assistant Principal. In addition, I am an alumnus of the North Carolina Digital Leaders Coaching Network and the NC Rural Teacher Leaders Network. I am an East Carolina University graduate and a United States Army veteran. Leadership and positivity are two characteristics that define me and, I look for the same in my students & colleagues.

I was GCMS Teacher of the Year for the 2015-16 & 2020-21 school years. I also served NC as a part of the Governor's Educational Advisory Committee from 2016 to 2017. Since 2014 I have presented at several national & state conferences as an ambassador for Greene County Schools, including the National Council for Social Studies, The At-Risk Youth National Forum, The North Carolina Technology in Education Society, and many others.

In addition to my professional accolades, I am a devoted family man. My wife, Veronica, and I have two children: Ajrieanna and Kade. We have two dogs, Maximus and Sophia. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, professional wrestling, and being a connoisseur of all pop culture-related things. I also like growing my skills in graphic design, and fictional storytelling when the opportunity arises. I look forward to learning new skills and facing new challenges each and every day!
