A little bit about me...

I was born right here in Green County. I have lived here my entire life. I graduated from GCHS and went on to attain my Bachelor's in Education from Campbellsville University in 2002. I immediately took my first teaching job in Hart County, where I worked across multiple grade levels for 16 years. In 2018 I was given the opportunity to teach Reading here at GCMS. I was very excited to take that position because this was my favorite school as a child. My graduating class was the first to spend our entire middle school experience in this building when it was new!

After moving back here and working with our middle school students, I immediately knew this was where I wanted to spend the rest of my career. However I decided to get my degree in School Counseling in order to be able to work them on a different level. I graciously took the position in September of 2023 when Mrs. Tammy Thompson retired.

Outside of school, there are many things I get into! I am a long-time equestrian. I love spending time recharging, at the barn while I brush and care for them. I also enjoy taking them out on trail rides and camping trips from time to time. Just in the past year, my daughter and I were able to do our first week-long camping trip to Land Between the Lakes. Outside of riding, we also raise a handful of sport-horse foals that find themselves in all parts of the country. My husband, Thomas and I stay pretty busy tending to the farm outside of school!

I have two kids that are both involved in band, which is something I also did when I was young. I enjoy watching them grow and learn music. My son is also enjoying his time in the electrical pathway at our ATC. I am so glad our ATC provides these opportunities for our youth.

Below you will see a few photos of me and my family. As time passes, I will add more photos to help you get to know me!
