My name is Rebecca Cassell, and I am the 7th grade Reading teacher at GCMS. This is my 9th year at GCMS, and I am incredibly excited to begin this school year. My goal is to instill a lifelong passion for reading in all of my students.

I have very high expectations of myself as a teacher as well as of my students, and I have always found that to be a formula for success. I want this to be an enjoyable year for all of my students but also a productive, challenging, and encouraging one. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child and working together to help your child succeed.

Communication is a huge part of your child's success. If you have any concerns at any point in the school year, feel free to reach me using the contact information I have provided.

About Me ...

After 25 years at the Central Kentucky News-Journal in Campbellsville, the last 7 years as editor, I returned to school, earning a B.A. in English and a B.S. in middle and high school education at Campbellsville University in 2015. I completed my master's degree at the University of the Cumberlands in 2018. My husband, Bill, a retired police chief, teaches criminal justice at Campbellsville University. We have three children, Cameron Dial, Logan Dial, and Madison Campbell. We also have two granddaughters, Aubrey and Tinlee, and two grandsons, Landon and Jaxson. And, now that my husband and I have become empty-nesters, we have replaced the three kids with three dogs - Lola, Piper and Allie!
