About Me

I am Mary DeSpain and work with children that need extra help to succeed. I have worked in the school district for over 20 years, first as a substitute teacher and then as full time employee. I enjoy my job and get so much gratification from the students I work with. They challenge me each and every day.

I am married to James DeSpain and a mother of two grown children with one grandson. I was a parent of a special needs child and learned so much from the experience. Ben was a twin and suffered from Cerebral Palsy and passed away when he was 16 years old. He brought so much joy to our family and we still miss him in our lives. My daughter is Brooke, who is married to Steve Shaw and they have a son, Lincoln Shaw, who is six years old. They live here in Green County. Ben's twin brother Max DeSpain lives in Los Angeles, California and works for the PGA. I am not a native of Green County but this has been my home since I married James 44 years ago. I love living in this community and serving the people of this county.
