College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Program

Congratulations to seniors Dominic Mata, Eleanna Gonzalez, and Ruby Ortega Guzman who are three of 72,000 students from across the country who received a National Hispanic Recognition Award from College Board’s National Recognition Programs.

These programs honor the strong academic achievements of underrepresented students with a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and scores in the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT® or PSAT™ 10 assessments. Students are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year after taking the assessments.

2024 National Merit Commended Students

Congratulations to Jackson Branum and Ivy Nichols for being named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.  A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, was presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although Commended Students do not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Attendance matters

In the event that your student must miss school, please be sure to call the ECA Attendance Line at 970.348.5800 and encourage your student to reach out to their instructors.

Colorado's sixth annual Free Applications Day$ will be held on October 17 - 19th, 2023 for Colorado residents. If students submit their application any time those days, they are applying for FREE! Colorado Free Application Day was created to encourage Colorado’s best and brightest students to further their education in the state of Colorado. By removing barriers for students to achieve a credential, Colorado can increase the number of students who complete their programs and enter the workforce with a degree or competitive skills.

The Student Support Center at ECA will be open all three days for students to come in and work on their applications.  Staff members will be available to help students.  We encourage students to begin the application process before Free Application Day$, so that come October 17-19, students can simply submit their application. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Dominguez, Aims Academic Advisor, at Kellyn.Dominguez@aims.edu.
