Google Class Tools provides real-time control for managed Chromebooks, allowing teachers to share and pin content, view student screens, and create digital workbooks directly from their Google Classroom roster. Designed to minimize distractions and maximize engagement, these features offer individualized support without interrupting the flow of instruction. Because it is an app on the Chromebooks it will block everything, including the Camera, Settings, etc. With built-in live captions and translations, it also ensures accessibility for language learners and students with hearing impairments, making it a powerful tool for maintaining focus and inclusivity in the digital classroom.
Only works on a Chromebook: A teacher can only use Class Tools on a district provided Chromebook with students on a district provided Chromebook. Class Tools will not work on a Windows device.
Pin Content with Focus Mode: Lock students into specific websites or assignments to eliminate "tab-hopping" and keep everyone on the same page.
Enable Live Translations: Use the captions feature to provide real-time, translated text of your lecture for ESL/ENL students and those with hearing impairments.
View Student Screens: You can view students’ screens from your own device, allowing you to keep an eye on individual students’ progress throughout the session. Keeping privacy in mind, students are notified before you view their screens.
Showcase Student Work: Wirelessly broadcast a student's screen to the front of the room to highlight exemplary work without needing any cables.
Update Your Roster Daily: Deselect absent students before starting a session to ensure you don’t remotely lock the screens of kids who aren't in the room.
