If you are experiencing a poor connection (lagging video, spotty audio, or dropping the call)
Make sure you have only one or at most two tabs open during the Meet.
In Meet, click on the three vertical dots (“snowman”) at the bottom right, select Change Layout then choose Spotlight view. Tile views use a lot of processor resources.
Try leaving the Meet, restarting your device and joining again.
Consider turning off your camera to save bandwidth.
Set your camera to transmit in Standard Definition instead of High Definition video for both Send and Receive video streams. That is accessible from the snowman > settings > video
Make sure your Chromebook is updated. Here’s how.
Add the Meet app to your Chromebook and try that instead of using Meet through the Chrome browser. You can add the app by going to the Play Store on your Chromebook. Start with the circle in the lower left corner and search for the Play Store.
