Using the library resources, find a book that has a Caldecott Medal or Caldecott Honor Award. Make sure to look at the illustrations and think about their background, layout, detail, color and realisticness. IF you were a judge, what would you give that book? Would you give it the Gold Medal (the most distinguished illustrations), the Silver Honor (pretty good but not the most distinguished illustrations) or would you give it No Award? Remember, there is no right or wrong, it is your opinion!!! Ask your family to be judges and see if they have similar or different opinions!
