A knitting loom is set up with bunch of pegs on a frame, evenly spaced. You “knit” onto these using a small tool for lifting yarn.
Most recorded history concerning knitting say that it originated in the Middle East, which then spread to Europe via trade routes.
The oldest known knitted object comes from Egypt, which are socks from the 11th century CE.
