Stakes were high for the Phantom's last game of the season. It was Senior Night and Isabel’s last chance to get her 100th goal. She accomplished that and more as the Phantoms won the game 5-0.
The game started off great with the defense keeping the ball away from the Poultney Blue Devils. With 23 minutes left in the half, Isabel got her 100th goal. Just 10 minutes later, she scored her 101st, but she wasn’t done. Near the end of the game, Isabel scored her 102nd goal. You can call it the cherry on top. Isabel wasn’t alone when it came to scoring, Emma Palmer scored 2 goals and had 3 assists.
“It felt good. Better than I thought it was gonna be,” Isabel said after the game.
The first time the Phantoms played Poultney they tied. The Lady Phantoms had too many injured players that game, including Emma Palmer and Cadence Goodwin; the Phantom’s best goalie. The referees had to stop the game due to a lack of players; the Phantoms only had 13 players, barely enough to play the game.
This week, it looked like the Phantoms had studied the Poultney Blue Devils since they shut them out so harshly.
The Lady Phantoms will head to the playoffs next week with a 5-8-1 season.
