General Information

Gravesend Grammar School Medical Society meet every Wednesday during Enrichment in Room 705, 14:25 - 15.25 pm.  It is very important that if you wish to join the Medical Society that you are a member of our 'Medical Society Google Classroom' as all notices, change of room details, information is sent out this way.  Please contact Mrs MacMahon to be added to the group.

The group is made up of students in 12  and Year 13. Sessions are mostly student led and each member will contribute over time by sharing experiences, perhaps running a session, undertaking some research, feeding back from any events, work experience they may have attended. etc. All students have a common interest and goal, they are interested in pursuing a career as a doctor, dentist, vet or as something 'health related'.

Institutions such as St Georges Medical School have had a regular input, covering topics such as:-

•  Articulating your work experience

•  Applying to medical school

•  Alternatives to Medicine

• Running mock MMI interview session for Medicine

• Running mock MMI interview session for Allied Health Professions

• UKCAT & BMAT  admissions tests

Kent & Medway Medical School (KMMS) - ran a virtual session about applying to medicine and their new medical school.

Medic Mentors - offer continuous support, offering a range of virtual events, health care conferences, work experience, summer schools, virtual medical society, virtual book club. 

Gravesend Grammar School are a caseload school working closely with Medic Mentors.
