Online entry form is available --> artists MUST receive an invite from their teacher. (REACH OUT TO YOUR TEACHER)!
Over fifty years ago, the Utah All-State High School Art Show was established to honor the best high school artists in the state for their talent, originality, and enthusiasm. Kearns High School submits works of art from our students every year. Submission into this show can be done through any arts teacher at Kearns.
As a juried (judged) show, this is one of the most prestigious and honorable opportunities. We encourage all students to apply themselves to submit work to this show.
Various awards (some with cash prizes) are presented to selected students in the exhibition. There is also a great opportunity to sell your artwork in this show.
Eligibility
Original Artwork: Developed from personal experience, imagination, and direct observation; from multiple personal photographs or sketches. Please include images of any personal photographs or sketches used during the creation process in your online submission.
Adapted Concept: Artwork developed from other sources using multiple elements or photographs with personal interpretation to create a new perception. We require the use of two or more images for each adapted work. All source material must be identified on the entry and the entry card, and an image or copy of the actual source must be included with the online submission.
Copy Work: Artwork that is directly copied from one source without original or creative adaptations is not allowed in this exhibition.
A.I. generated artwork will not be accepted in this exhibition. Submissions of digital artworks that utilize rendering software (i.e. Blender, Unity, Maya, etc.) must include sketches, screen shots, and/or screen recordings from throughout the creation process. Museum staff will make final decision if artwork complies with eligibility requirements.
At the end of each school year, Granite School District displays selected works from high school students across the valley. Students at Kearns high in all categories are chosen every year to represent our school's art department. Submission into this show can be done through any arts teacher at Kearns in the Springtime.
We encourage all students to submit work to this show.
Awards and scholarships are presented to a select few students at this show.
HOST SCHOOL: KEARNS HIGH SCHOOL
This is a competition where each high school in the Granite School District selects art students to compete in various mediums and themes. Every student will have four hours to complete a work of art, and they will bring 2 to 4 examples of their best artwork to display for the competition. This is a community event where you are encouraged to invite all of your friends, family, and peers to attend. Professional judges from across the state and from various backgrounds will be there to select the winners of the categories but also serve as mentors giving you advice and encouragement along the way. There is money available for special art supplies if requested, so speak to your art instructor ASAP to get what you would need. This is not only a great learning experience but a chance to build your resume and help build your skills for future art endeavors. Talk to your teacher if you are interested in this opportunity.
Each Fall and Spring, the teachers of Kearns High will select students from their classes to display artwork for the school community. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what you have learned over the course of your classwork and to show pride in your school. We encourage all students to work toward the goal of having a piece in the school show.
