Mrs. Nelson

About me

My name is Mrs. Lucy Nelson and I am one of the fourth grade teachers here at Grand Peak Academy. I am originally from South Carolina, but I have lived in a lot of places due to the military. In 2008, my husband retired from the Air Force to Colorado.

I have been in and out of the classroom most of my adult life- as a student, volunteer, substitute teacher, and classroom teacher. I am a certified teacher in the state of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

I am married with three children and have three pets. Currently we have two dogs and one cat. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, sightseeing, and hiking. I also enjoy reading a good book and drinking coffee. I am very excited to once again have the opportunity to be teaching a group of amazing students with an exceptional curriculum.
