Interested in playing a band instrument? take online lessons and have a rental instrument delivered to you!

Dear Students and Families,

Thank you so much for expressing your interest in playing a band instrument! While these are some crazy times and nobody knows what to expect we are still planning on having a band here at GPA! Middle school students can sign up for band as a class and can learn a band instrument such as Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, or the drums. This year I would like to allow my 4th and 5th graders to play band instruments as well. While Band this year will not meet in a traditional sense of rehearsing together in a full sized group, there will still be opportunities to learn to play any of these musical instruments! I am offering FREE online or in person lessons for those interested in playing band instruments (guitar and piano are not traditional concert band instruments). I will offer these lessons for free as long as you promise to try Band when we get to a time where we can rehearse as a full size band.

Information about obtaining a band instrument is available on the next page. If you are interested in playing a band instrument YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO BUY AN EXPENSIVE INSTRUMENT UPFRONT! Many music stores do what are called RENT-TO-OWN programs where you can rent an instrument at a small fee per month until you have paid off the full value of your instrument.

I have partnered with a music store from Denver called GOLDEN MUSIC. They not only provide a rent to own program but they do FREE DELIVERY ON RENTAL INSTRUMENTS. The next two pages contain more detail about rental instruments.

In order to sign up for band all you have to do is fill out the last page of this packet and return it to Mr. Thomas. As soon as you can provide payment for a rental instrument, we can set up a time for lessons as well as a time to get your instrument delivered!
