All About Mrs. Ransleben

I am a 1st-grade teacher at Brawner Elementary School. This is my 14th year teaching with 13 of these years being in First Grade. Thirteen of those years I spent teaching at Emma Roberson Elementary school.

I am married to Kurt Ransleben and we have 4 children. Our oldest is Cassidy and she is 22 years old and our other daughter, Caitlyn, is 19 years old. We also have twin boys who are 5 years old and will begin Kindergarten this year here at Brawner.

A fun fact about myself is that I attended Emma Roberson Elementary when I was younger (much younger). I remember being in Kindergarten in Mrs. Oxford's class in the wing of the school that is now the office area. I also attended Brawner Elementary. However, when I attended it was named Meadows Middle School. I was the first 8th-grade class to enter the school and my husband was in the first 7th-grade class. We went to school together but at the time, we didn't know each other. And now our sons will be in the first Kindergarten class at Brawner Elementary. I also graduated from Granbury High School in 1998. It truly is an honor to be teaching where my own education started.

Teaching is my passion and I cannot imagine doing anything else. I feel that God has given me a gift and teaching students is such a blessing! I always say that once a child enters my classroom, they are my student forever - and I truly mean this with my whole heart.
