20th March 2026
Every child has a different way of shining and it is our job to let them glow! I take great pleasure in reading and listening to all that our Grafton pupils do during their day and Thursdays are always a special day as it is the Headteacher Awards Day! Our pupils shine not just in Maths and English but in other subject areas as well. It is very encouraging to see them awarded for their resilience, their pride and their creativity as well. So, if you get a phone call on a Thursday afternoon - don't worry, it's just me calling to let you know how proud I am of their achievements and how thankful we are for the staff that work here.
For those celebrating Eid- Eid Mubarak to you and your families. 🌙
Important Safety Reminder for Parents and Carers
We kindly ask all parents and carers to speak with their children about what to do if they become separated from you after being collected from school.
Recently, we have had a small number of incidents where pupils have become separated from their adult and then attempted to make their own way home. This can be unsafe and is something we are keen to prevent.
Please remind your child that if they cannot find you at collection time, or if they become separated at any point, they should return immediately to the school and speak to a member of staff. There will always be an adult available to help them.
Reinforcing this message at home will help ensure all children stay safe and know exactly what to do in these situations.
Thank you for your continued support.

🎵 KS2 Choir Attended CMS Musical Festival 🎵
Our KS2 hoir had a wonderful opportunity to take part in the borough CMS Music Festival, held at Valence Primary School on Thursday, 19th March. The children performed two songs, including the much-loved You Raise Me Up, and represented the school beautifully.
A highlight of the event was joining voices with other local schools to perform a range of songs together. This was a fantastic experience for the children and one they thoroughly enjoyed.
We are incredibly proud of all the pupils involved for their enthusiasm, confidence, and excellent behaviour throughout the day—well done to each and every one of them!
A special thank you goes to Mrs Bernard and Mrs Caisey for their dedication in leading the choir and preparing the children so well for this memorable event.
