"But discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness" (1 Timothy 4:7).
"From what I have heard in counseling sessions, learned in school, observed in public school classrooms, and studied in the Word, children need to know there is a God who loves them and has a plan for them despite what the world has to offer and despite what schools want to mandate. It is my prayer and desire that Grace Christian Academy offers an environment where children will continually learn that there is a plan for their life. Each student will be discipled for the Lord. As his disciples, they can then go out and reach the world. My time at GCA will be spent, God willing, ensuring that students are pressed forward and that Christ is in the details of learning. The privilege of being a part of Grace Christian Academy is built on a foundation that God orchestrated. During a decade of time, God taught me lessons about children, their needs, and gave me the desire to reach children for Him."
Mrs. DeLaurentis completed her undergraduate work at Rutgers University as a Henry Rutgers Scholar. Her thesis and research centered on the differences between boys and girls when learning social-emotional skills. Mrs. DeLaurentis then completed a Master of Arts in Schooling and a Master of Education in Applied Educational Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Upon graduation, she began work as a School Psychologist and currently holds National Certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP). In September of 2016, Mrs. DeLaurentis resigned as Coordinator of a Child Study Team in order to devote her time to educating her children and to begin the journey of bringing a rigorous and affordable Christian education to CCSJ.
"I am confident God will shed his light upon our school for many families. I am very proud and excited to embark on this exciting journey. The most important asset that I have is being a Mom. Raising three boys has been a rewarding adventure and at times difficult. It has given me a greater understanding of the individual needs that children have. My children’s education is one of the most important things to me. I was blessed to have received a Christian education from sixth through twelfth grade. I understand the drastic difference between public school and Christian school. My heart will always be for an education that is centered on Jesus Christ combined with high academics. I look forward to partnering with you to give your student the tools needed for the rest of life."
Mrs. Flanigan graduated from Holy Family University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and currently holds a New Jersey State Teacher Certification. After graduating, she began teaching first grade in the current CCSJ building when it was St. Matthew Regional School. The school closed in 2007 and Mrs. Flanigan became a classroom aide for two years. In 2009, she left the teaching profession in order to care for her newborn twins and three-year-old son. Now, years later, CCSJ is Mrs. Flanigan's home church and a school once again.
"I feel extremely blessed and I am thankful that God captured my heart in the time that he did. I've been able to watch his blessings flow forth and watch him work in so many situations. One of these situations happens to be GCA! I have been a member of CCSJ for 15 years. When this church was Calvary Chapel of Bellmawr, our Pastor had announced that they were looking into buying and moving into our current new building. My heart leapt for joy at the thought of this because I knew the building contained classrooms. Being an educator at heart, my husband and I went over to the new prospective parking lot as soon as we could and began to pray for a school. He had been whispering this little secret within me for quite some time and I love how his promises come to fruition. Before I knew it, God had ordained some personal interactions with those that shared the same passion. Through this I watched him form our Development Committee and right away we got to work. God has been at the center and I enjoy and love watching him pour out his blessings over this school"
"Despite my experience at various schools, it has been difficult at times to not be able to integrate my faith in so many of the lessons. God is the creator and originator of everything, so it is unnatural to not incorporate Him into everything. I am passionate about being able to provide our students with an education that includes all that is right and true without hesitation. God has created each and every one of us with different gifts and abilities. It is my honor to help guide your child in discovering these gifts and abilities, while also building them up to be highly effective for the kingdom of God."

GCA Ambassador to the Community
"Tears streamed down my face as Pastor Harry made the official announcement regarding the opening of Grace Academy. I knew immediately that my children had found their school. What I didn't know, was that I would be called into the ministry to help behind the scenes with the launch of our new school. I attended the initial kick-off meeting to learn more about the school (from a parent's perspective) and I left not only convinced that my children belonged at Grace Academy, but I learned that the school was in need of assistance with Marketing and Public Relations. At the time, I was already helping with various marketing projects for CCSJ, so it was a natural fit. Whether promoting VBS, working on the website or managing the church's social media pages, I've thoroughly enjoyed giving back to the church that has done so much for me and my family. Working with the Development Committee was just another step in God's amazing plan for my life."
"Years before the church relocated to West Deptford, my husband and I visited several local Christian schools trying to find the right environment for our children. However, we quickly realized that we were facing more than one giant when it came to the decision to remove our children from the public school system. Two of our children have IEP's and we struggled with the decision to bring them to a classroom without a Special Education teacher or the services they had become accustomed to. Then, there was the issue of tuition. Even if GOD would provide financially, how would our boys do without their special services? However, we quickly came to realize that GOD is bigger than any IEP. And it just so happens that GCA tuition is a FRACTION of other schools and half of the GCA staff has special education experience -- coincidence? No such thing! Just God's amazing plan! I'm so blessed to be a part of God's work at CCSJ and now Grace Academy and look forward to meeting you and your children."

"The desire and willingness to invest my time on the GCA Development Committee grew from my own experience in a Christian school and my need for a Christian education for my children that was affordable. I attended Christian school for 6 years as a pre-teen and teen. In retrospect, despite my knowledge, I missed the personal relationship that was offered to me by Jesus. GCA's mission and educational philosophy aligns with my prayer that children, my children, walk into adulthood having a PERSONAL relationship with Jesus. Further, in His perfect time, God has revealed that coming out of my bureaucratic role is likely in the near future. What better way than to become involved in educating children in an environment that is focused on Jesus and guided by our Lord. I look forward to serving at GCA as the Lord leads for years to come."
Mrs. Wimmer was led to work on the development committee and was willing to agree to any capacity that was needed. God knew where. He used the skills He placed in Mrs. Wimmer and developed in her for the admissions and registration process. Mrs. Wimmer has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Beaver College (Arcadia University) and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. For the past 18 years, she has worked in the Intellectual Disability (ID) field in a variety of capacities. In each, God allowed her to learn quickly and accomplish goals that led to new opportunities. Mrs. Wimmer's gifts and passions for organizational management, leadership, and process were consistently called upon in her roles. She has a mind for detail thoroughly enjoys digging into the weeds to learn information and find ways for improvement. Currently, Mrs. Wimmer works for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in an office overseeing programs for people that have ID.
"As a pastor's wife with two small children, my mind was on my children's fast approaching formal school years. Specifically, on my desire for a school where the foundations I set at home would be reinforced. When the Development Committee introduced the concept and called for people with a willingness to serve, the Lord directed me. I have a heart for ministry and serving is a part of my life. I have served at CCSJ for the past ten years in various ministries such as Director of VBS, Director of the nursery, and as a worship team leader. In this instance, I knew I was called but I was not always exactly sure of the capacity. While my background is not in education, God knew what was needed and how He equipped me to contribute. I had the privilege of developing documents that will serve the school next year and for years to come. God has more for me here. Now, I am praying about using my background in science and business to educate the future high school students at GCA."
