Dear Families,

Thank you again for a memorable Fun Run!  The donations are in and we were able to raise $20,000!  Students earned the following prizes:

We are still working on organizing Kona Ice and Inflatable recess!  The PTO is also preparing for our a Trunk-or-Treat.  Be sure to read on below for more information from the PTO.

Today we had our first "Guardian Group" time.  This is a time every other month that our students K-5 are assigned a "homeroom" to work on activities with students in different grade levels.  To celebrate our theme, "Learning Takes You Places" we "traveled to" Mexico today.  Students made passports, learned about where Mexico is on the map,  what the Mexian flag looks like, and that Mexican Independence Day was celebrated September 16.

You should receive a blue form confirming your scheduled Parent Teacher conference time.  I know our teachers are looking forward to meeting with you and sharing all the progress made thus far this year.

Happy Weekend!

Teacher Trolley

Just like our students have a special school store (to earn prizes!), we have a snack cart for teachers!  This gives teachers a little extra energizer during the day.  We are currently working on putting together the cart of snacks and fun that we can surprise our teachers once a month or so.   If you are interested in donating to our cart - CLICK HERE.  These are just ideas, we will accept any snacks or fun office/teacher items. Thanks so much!

Parents are able to access their child's lunch account online.  Visit our Food & Nutrition Services website here.  Accounts and payment information can be found here.

If you should have any questions regarding your child’s lunch account, please feel free to contact our lunch paraprofessional, Mrs. Kelly Leahy at  402-332-3938 or kleahy@gpsne.org.

Students are welcome to celebrate their birthdays at school!  Please be sure treats are store bought.  Check with your child's teacher if they are a nut-free classroom.

To help your child's birthday celebration run smoothly, please send the treats with your child to school in the morning.

Guests are welcome to join us at lunch. There will be special "Guest" tables set up in the lunchroom for you and your child to eat.  Your child will not be allowed to invite another student to eat with them at the guest table.

We do ask that you limit lunch visits to birthdays only until after Labor Day to allow for us to teach expectations and help students learn the routines and procedures.  Thank you for your help and understanding.

During counseling lessons and throughout the day, we work on different coping strategies to manage stress and emotions.

Outside of the counseling classroom, we have this poster displayed to serve as a reminder of all of the different strategies we've talked about that students (and grown ups too!) may choose to use to help manage stress or how they are feeling.

Please feel free to contact our counselor, Mrs. Hall, shall@gpsne.org or at 402-332-3938 if there are ever any quesions or concerns.

Be sure to check out our Printable Flyers website.
