Dear Families,
We enjoyed celebrating "Bus Driver Appreciation Week this past week and recognizing our drivers. We also had the Gretna Fire Department discuss fire safety yesterday at an all-school assembly. Did you know that Omaha Fire Department observed one of our drills? They shared that our students and staff did a fantastic job! Today, our students have enjoyed the inflatable recess thanks to our PTO. I am sure your student will share about that with you!
Looking ahead to next week, our Assistant Principal, Mr. Jake Runyon (jrunyon@gpsne.org) will be at Falling Waters Wednesday and Thursday! I will be out of town at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference. As a reminder, our Trunk-or-Treat is Thursday, October 26th and there is NO SCHOOL on Friday.
I know families are also preparing for our Halloween parties and parade. This will be held on Tuesday, October 31st. I have included our outdoor parade route below- along with some information on the costumes and parties. Classroom teachers and room parents will be sending information as well.
As always, thank you for sharing your children with us! Have an awesome weekend!

If you should have any questions regarding your child’s lunch account, please feel free to contact our lunch paraprofessional, Mrs. Kelly Leahy at 402-332-3938 or kleahy@gpsne.org.
Students are welcome to celebrate their birthdays at school! Please be sure treats are store bought. Check with your child's teacher if they are a nut-free classroom.
To help your child's birthday celebration run smoothly, please send the treats with your child to school in the morning.
Guests are welcome to join us at lunch. There will be special "Guest" tables set up in the lunchroom for you and your child to eat. Your child will not be allowed to invite another student to eat with them at the guest table.
We do ask that you limit lunch visits to birthdays only until after Labor Day to allow for us to teach expectations and help students learn the routines and procedures. Thank you for your help and understanding.
