• Incoming 6th grade parents, your child is eligible to participate in specific middle school sports as a 6th grader.
6th grade sports information: 6th Grade Sports Information
Depending on the sport, busing is provided from Oakes to GMS.
Sports physicals are required for ALL middle school sponsored sports and must be turned in before any practices or tryouts (must be dated April 15, 2026 or later)
Physicals can be turned in one of three ways:
• Uploaded to FinalForms (preferred and more efficient)
• Dropped off at the GMS school office (during open hours)
• Scanned or photographed and emailed to lkargbo@gpsbulldogs.org
Deadline for FALL sports: Physicals must be submitted by August 10.
If your family is planning to move and/or your child will not be attending Oakestown, please email us at oakesattendance@gpsbulldogs.org as soon as possible with your child's name and what school they will be attending. This will allow us to watch for a records request from the new district to be able to transfer their file in a timely manner.

WHO: Students and families who would like to assist Friends of Buck Creek and the City of Grandville with watering recently planted trees.
WHY: For 6th graders, this is a chance to dive into the learning we did throughout the year on freshwater science and conservation. For our 5th graders, it's an opportunity to help beautify the community and get a head-start on what we'll be doing in their next school year.
WHEN: Any week(s) during the summer you would like to help! A member of Friends of Buck Creek will contact you once we have received responses to this form with the times your help could be needed.
WHERE: There are 10 trees at the cemetery, about 10 at Wedgwood Park, and 5 down the trail west of Wedgwood on the way to Canal. Each has a watering bag attached to it.
WHAT: Bring a bucket and a funnel. The tree water bags should be filled once a week, and the easiest way would probably be to use a bucket to take water from the creek and a funnel to pour the water into the bag (since it has a small opening). Alternately, if that’s too much work, get buckets of water from the creek and pour the water slowly onto the soil.
Contact the Chair of the Friends of Buck Creek at mibuckcreek@gmail.com with any questions.
Please complete this form as soon as possible so planning can begin. Thank you.
