On-line technological tool that helps students acquire , develop and practice English language using the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing required and measured on TELPAS Texas State Test given to all Emergent Bilinguals during the month of February, 2026.
This program is integrated into the curriculum and is used two times per month.
Hi! My name is Zelideth Garcia. I was born in New York City. There I lived with my mother and my two siblings until my mother moved back to her hometown, Puerto Rico. There I finished my elementary, middle and high school studies. Then, I went to the University of Puerto Rico where I graduated in the Department of Humanities with a concentration in French. After graduating , I worked several years for the hotel and private industry. In 1997, I was hired to work as an English teacher with the Department of Education. of Puerto Rico So, I went back to studying completing all the courses required to be a teacher. Once I finished I continued to study doing a Master's in Sacred Heart University designed for teachers in Educational Technology and a minor in ESL.
I worked with the Department of Education for 20 years until 2017 I decided to come to Houston, Texas. I have worked as an ESL teacher since then. First, at Harmony of Enrichment , a charter school as an elementary ESL teacher and since 2023 at Cobbs Middle School.
In Cobbs, I will be working with your students to help them grow in the acquisition of the language and glow so they can feel and be successful during this school year. To succeed I need your help making sure he/she turns in his work, completes his tasks, speaks and participates when he/she is asked to do. But we mostly need that he/she comes to school since we all know attendance matters. I will also need your assistance in attending to our ESL activities so that you understand how we are working and you can support at home too. It takes a village to develop a strong, educated child. You, Cobbs's Staff and teachers and our administrators will be all working together to meet those goals.
