My name is Yazmin Lugo, I was born at 12:45 a.m. My dad was the one who picked my name because my parents took turns naming my siblings and me. I have three siblings, I am the youngest one. My oldest sister and I have an 11-year-old age gap. The hospital where I was born is no longer established here in Houston, Texas. I go to Woodland Acres Middle School. I am not a big fan of school, but even if I don’t like it I always try to pass my classes. I have to pass my classes to play at my upcoming games for volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer.
I love sports, but mostly soccer. A hobby I have is to play soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old. All thanks to my dad. My dad put me in a soccer team since I was a kid because he used to play soccer as a teenager. When I was 11 years old I sprained my left knee by playing soccer. It was awful, I couldn’t move my whole leg, I felt like I didn’t even have a leg. My leg had to be straight because I couldn’t bend my knee. At the moment, my knee is better. I can play sports now. I'm joining the volleyball team this year. I hope I get A team and not B team.
Some of my accomplishments are winning the mvp trophy for volleyball. In 7th grade, I got picked to be the mvp for black (A) team volleyball. I was surprised, I didn’t think I was going to get the trophy. When I got it and came home I showed my whole family because I was proud of winning something so big. My family were proud of me, and I hope I always make them proud. Another accomplishment is on getting a higher grade on the reading STAAR test in 7th grade. I was surprised because I thought that I was going to make a lower score than last year. I like it when I get a higher grade because it shows how much I’ve improved.
A goal that I wanna accomplish is getting All-Star Athlete Of The Year trophy. I want to get one because I feel like you did everything possible to carry on your whole team. I want to get it for 8th grade, if I do I would be so proud of myself for trying so hard. Another goal is getting a banner. I want a banner that has my name on it on the wall. If I do get a banner it will stay in the gym wall forever. Getting a banner isn’t hard, you just need to give it all you can to win every game as possible. I want to get the title “Undefeated” for volleyball, basketball, or both. It won’t matter as long as I get a banner. I will give it my all to complete all this.
