Sofia's the bomb

 SOFIA'S STORY

I was born on October 02, 2010, in mexico. I lived in Mexico for most of my childhood, but before I moved to Houston, Texas where I'm currently living in, my parents gave me the best gift ever, a little sister which is currently 7. When we moved out from Mexico I was 8 and I went to Pyburn elementary, where I made most of my friends. I did pre-k to 2nd grade in Mexico and then I did the rest in Pyburn all the way up to 8th grade, which is the grade I'm currently in. I’ve only had one pet in my whole life, and it’s a dog. His name is Chelito, and my dad named it that because of his favorite soccer player, Chelito Delgado. 

Some of the hobbies I enjoy the most are playing the guitar, listening to music, and just spending time with my friends and family. I got my guitar for my 13th birthday and it’s been almost a year since I got it. Even Though I almost gave up on trying to learn it, I just kept going and realized it is a pretty fun activity to do so I can relieve stress. I also love listening to music, it brings my mood up and I just really enjoy doing it, especially when I want to do something like cleaning, or doing school work. A talent I have is drawing. I loved to draw when I was younger, but I stopped doing it after focusing on doing other things. I also love to read and my favorite book is “The Little Prince”.

My recent accomplishment is that I got a perfect score of 100 in the STAAR test, and I was really proud of myself for that big accomplishment. I also got masters in the math STAAR test, which made me so happy. Another accomplishment is that this year is going to be my second year of being in Wind Ensemble which is the highest ranked band out of the program. I also got to be in NJHS at WAMS, and it was a great experience for me. The last accomplishment I've done is that I've never given up on anything I've tried to achieve, and that is really important to me and my life accomplishments.

I have a lot of goals set for myself, especially this year. One of my goals this year is to have straight A’s in all my classes, and I'll have to study for that, which leads to another goal I have this year, that is to study more and not procrastinate anymore. Another goal I have is to get masters in all my STAAR tests this year, more specifically to get a 90 or higher on at least two of the tests. Having good grades is really important that's why i have really high standards in school. I want to do good in high school as well to get into a good college, and eventually get the job of my dreams, and for that to happen I am going to work extremely hard to achieve that. Those are my school and life goals that I want to achieve, to make my parents and myself proud.
