Selena's Story

Selena Almanza was born on August 16, 2011. She was born on a sunny Tuesday, which explains why she is such a happy person. She was born and grew up in Houston, Texas but her family members are from Guanajuato, Mexico. Since Selena was born her mother Tomasa loved taking her to visit her home country, Mexico. Selena loved it there, she enjoyed the climate there. 

Since Selena was little she has always been an energetic, and talkative little girl. She didn't find any interest in sports as a little girl, but she later then found her interest in soccer. Selena was quite good at it but it was not really for her so her parents never enrolled her into a soccer team. Besides Selena being a very social and energetic little girl, she has always been a very smart girl. Throughout both her middle and elementary school years, her favorite subject has always been English. 

In the past few years Selena has accomplished many things, like getting advanced ELAR throughout her whole middle school career. This may seem really "achievable" for others but it is really hard for someone to get advanced English all throughout middle school since there are rarely spots open. This proves how smart she is genuinely not just in English but in many other subjects as well.

Selena has big goals and dreams for her future. Being a immigration lawyer has been one of her biggest goals. She wants to be a known, and successful woman once she is older. She also plans to graduate high school in the top 5 percent in her class, she knows that studying hard and earning this place will not only get her more academic opportunities, but it will also make her parents very proud. Though her biggest goal has always been to make her parents prouder than they already are, because they work very hard to take care of her. Once Selena is grown and makes her own money she plans on repaying her parents back from all the time and money they have spent on her.
