Sucely's Writing Artistry

About Me!

It was late November, my family expecting me. My mother, Deyli Medrano, was prepared to see me. Surprisingly, l was born a day after, November 28, 2007. While my father, Ramon Ortiz, held me, he suggested to call me Teresa. My mother thought of it as a silly name and wanted to call me Genesis. Yet, they decided to name me after my mother’s middle name, Sucely. I was then taken to my new home, in Houston, Texas. And that’s how my life began.

I was just entering Kindergarten when I was blessed with my new baby brother. At first, I didn’t mind having a little sibling, as a matter a fact, I loved taking care of him, even when he would get a little noisy. During that time, I was also discovering the wonders of reading, which is one of my favorite hobbies today. Throughout the years, I also enjoyed solving algebra and writing creative stories, but when it came to history and science, it always bores me. Despite not enjoying specific subjects, I have always have had high scores in all of my classes.

During my elementary years, I achieved many accomplishments. For example, some of my most memorable achievements are my UIL wins. While being in the 4th grade, I had entered the Dictionary Skills competition. Even though I had plenty of confidence, I was still very shocked about receiving 5th place in my first year. For the upcoming year, I decided to compete for both Calculator Applications, and Dictionary Skills. I placed in both competitions, as a 3rd place Dictionary champion, and a 5th place Calculator Whiz. And for my first middle school year as a 6th grader, I received 2nd place for Dictionary Skills! Right now, I am in my second middle school year, 7th grade. I'm still in Woodland Acres Middle School and in their band, playing my clarinet. You may consider me one of the “Squidward’s” in my school. I've become better at playing my clarinet that I might try out the bass clarinet. I'm also in two other electives. One of them is Imaginative Writing (This class!), where I'm able to write and express myself in creative ways. The second elective is a podcasting class in which I learn about the elements of a podcast. My class is planning on creating our own personal podcast, too! Although there’s currently a pandemic, I still try my best to do well and succeed in my online classes.

Even though I seem to have a tremendous life, I'm still not quite sure about my future. I would love to be a mathematician, or a news reporter, even a book author. There are so many things I want to try and do, but can’t seem to choose one. For now, I'm enthusiastic about what's still ahead of me, and can’t wait for my life adventure to unravel.

Me AKA Sucely Ortiz :)
