GPISD New Teacher Technology Training
Classlink
ClassLink provides One Click single sign-on into web and Windows applications, and instant access to files at school and in the cloud. ClassLink is accessible from any computer, tablet or smartphone. This is where you will access all programs utilized by the district.
Task Challenge:
Try logging into Classlink.
Try to access your H:/ drive through Classlink.
Try accessing Office 365
Eduphoria
You will use Eduphoria for a number of tasks. You will sign up for staff development courses, enter and keep track of your goals, enter lesson plans, view student test scores, and electronically sign documents sent out from the district.
Task Challenge:
Login to Eduphoria.
Click on My Profile at the bottom of the home screen and go through the prompts to set up your profile. Remember - the password you create is case sensitive.
Next, go into Strive and register for Courses.
Frontline
Frontline holds all your personal information, including leave balances, absence reporting, time cards, payroll and benefits information.
Task Challenge:
Try logging into Frontline.
Check your personal information and ensure everything is correct.
Locate your leave balances, time cards, payroll and benefits information.
Work through the steps of reporting an absence without actually submitting one.
GPISD Help Desk
All technology help tickets should be submitted to the GPISD Help Desk online. There is a shortcut to the Help Desk in Classlink and on each users desktop.
Task Challenge:
Try logging into GPISD Help Desk.
Click on Create Ticket.
Work through steps of reporting a technology issue, but do not submit the ticket.
Outlook
You will use Outlook for your district email, calendar, and groups.
Task Challenge:
Login to your Outlook email.
Practice sending an email to someone in the district.
Set up your email signature.
School Status
School status is a database that pulls in student data from multiple district sources. Here you can find student attendance, grades, parent contact information and other data on your students. All parental contact and communication will go through School Status.
Task Challenge:
Login to School Status.
Go into Settings and set your default preferences.
Electronic Communication and Social Media
As a Galena Park ISD employee, what you say and do on social media can be a direct reflection upon the district. You are bound to the Texas Educators' Code of Ethics at all times, which includes social media. Please review the basic rules for electronic communication and social media in GPISD. There will be additional training on this topic, provided by the HRS department.
Learning management systems
A Learning Management System is an integrated set of interactive online services that provides the teachers, learners, parents, and others involved in education with information, tools, and resources to support and enhance educational delivery and management. Galena Park ISD uses 2 systems, Google Classroom and Seesaw for specific grades. Click "Learning Management Systems" to learn more.
Skyward - Gradebook & Attendance
Skyward is the district student database where teachers will input grades and take attendance. You can also find contact information for students and their guardians
Classroom Website
All teachers in GPISD are required to have and maintain (update regularly) a website.
Websites must include:
Calendar (including assignment due dates)
Class schedule
Teacher contact
Conference time
Tutorial times
**Note: Websites must be updated weekly
Universal Login
You will use your universal login to login to most of the software programs we use in GPISD.
Task Challenge:
Try to login to a few of the programs to make sure your universal login information is working.
At the end of the day, change your universal password to something that you will remember (note: do not do this before the end of the day, as it takes the system some time to change the password in all of the different programs).
