Team Delta Announcements:
No School on Tuesday, March 12
Homework Club: Wednesdays
ChromeBooks: Please charge each night!
Announcements/Reminders:
Water only at school, please! Plain water will keep you hydrated throughout the day. Please keep other beverages at home. Thank you! Also, reusable water bottles with a screw top only, please! No sharing water bottles.
Agenda Book: Record your assignments daily in the agenda, and then use the agenda each night as a "to do" check list. Get in this habit on the very first day!
ChromeBooks: Get a routine to charge each night.
Phones: Must be turned-off (at least the sound!) and kept in lockers during school hours.
Snacks: Students might be allowed to have a snack during independent work time with permission. We ask that snacks are quiet and easy to manage in a classroom setting, and small portions. Students do not share snacks or water bottles in class.
Ways to support your student in middle school - Help/encourage them to take charge of these:
Create a study zone at home - some place your student has school materials and space to spread-out books, journals and the ChromeBook.
Establish a routine to complete homework each night - a predictable schedule for each day
Use the agenda book as a check list. Students should plan what assignments will be completed when based of their school schedule and their after-school schedule. Help them prioritize - start with the most difficult so they have the most energy with the tough tasks.
Establish a routine to charge the ChromeBook each night and have it packed and ready to go for the next morning.
Get to bed early! These students are busy and need quite a bit of sleep to keep up with their schedules and growth spurts.
Update/replenish the tool kit with pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, hand-held pencil sharpener, high lighter.
Organize binders/journals. Put loose papers into the binder in the appropriate sections.
