Ways to support your student in middle school - Help/encourage them to take charge of these:

  1. Create a study zone at home - some place your student has school materials and space to spread-out books, journals and the ChromeBook.

  2. Establish a routine to complete homework each night - a predicatable schedule for each day

  3. Use the agenda book as a check list. Students should plan what asignments will be completed when based of their school schedule and their after-school schedule. Help them prioritize - start with the most difficult so they have the most energy with the tough tasks.

  4. Establish a routine to charge the ChromeBook each night and have it packed and ready to go for the next morning.

  5. Get to bed early! These students are busy and need quite a bit of sleep to keep up with their schedules and growth spurts.

  6. Update/replenish the tool kit with pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, hand-held pencil sharpener, high lighter.

  7. Organize binders/journals. Put loose papers into the binder in the appropriate sections.
