Application Deadline is February 20, 2026. Students currently in Grades 9 and 10 are eligible to apply.

There are three steps to apply:
Complete the google application form
Submit your reference letter to j.mcnorgan@tvdsb.ca
Let your guidance counsellor know you have applied to TVDSB Aviation.

Both the Grade 10 and Grade 11 Aviation program will allow the students to earn 5 credits in the semester!
Grade 10
History, Science, Civics/Careers, Small Aircraft Maintenance, Electronic/Avionics
Grade 11
Physics, Interdisciplinary Studies (Aviation related topics), Small Aircraft Maintenance, Computer Enigineering/Avionics. Fanshawe College Dual Credit
Grade 12
There is no Grade 12 Aviation Program....students will complete the rest of the high school requirments at their home school for all of Grade 12.

Real World Opportunities
Our TVDSB Aviation School offers students across Thames Valley a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in aviation, while earning a five-credit bundle. Based out of Montcalm and our TVDSB airport hangar, a team of educators delivers a collaborative, project-based learning environment. Aviation is one of the fastest growing sectors in Canada's economy and our goal is provide our students an experience that may lead to a career in this exciting field.
Our TVDSB Aviation program is designed for all TVDSB students and we welcome applications from across our Board. Applications for the 2026-27 school year will open soon!
Beginning in grade 9, students are able to apply to begin in Grade 10. All students must have completed MTH1W1 AND SNC1W1 prior to Grade 10 and achieved all 8 Grade 9 credits. There are many possible aviation pathways in our program and beyond.
Register for the Grade 10, five credit program. You'll spend 1 semester at your home school and join the TVDSB Aviation School in the opposite semester. If you wish to continue your Aviation learning with us, opportunities continue into Grades 11!
Grade 11 is also a five credit program and includes an Aviation focused Dual Credit opportunity at Fanshawe College with college instructors.
Aviation School is a ministry funded Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program. We are able to offer enhanced certifications, training, and Aviation specific experiential opportunities along with courses designed for all pathways to post secondary programs in Aviation and Aerospace!! Students in the Grade 11 and 12 programs will be part of this exciting opportunity!
