-non-standard units to measure lengths and describe relationships between the size of a unit and the number of units

-explain the relationship between centimetres and metres and use benchmarks to estimate length

-measure and draw lengths in centimetres and metres and recognize the impact of not starting at zero

-use units of time, including seconds, minutes, hours, and non-standard units, to describe the duration of  events

This week we will begin discussing linear measurement. We will be exploring length, height, width using various non standard tools to measure objects with (e.g., snap cubes, paper clips, tiles).

This week we will be learning about measuring area. We will be exploring area using a variety of materials (e.g., cards, tiles, cubes).
