Reading activities will be available to you on Google Classroom depending on your child's reading level. Your child will receive an email invitation to their reading group on Google Classroom.

Levelled books will be assigned to your child using a website called Sunshine Classics The login details have been sent to each student's email address.

Pre-reading - look through the book and discuss what it might be about, what could be happening in the book from looking at pictures. Are there any words that are familiar, any that are new? Can you relate the story to a prior experience? Have a conversation about that.

After reading there are activities on Sunshine Classics to complete.

If you are looking for something new to read check out Epic. This is an e-book website that your child is familiar with. The class code is kbg5688

Before writing, discuss what your child could write. Help them do a plan (a brainstorm or a picture). Then they can write independently. Room 6 has been learning to read their work to check that it makes sense. Your child should be able to identify where they need to use capital letters and full stops. With support, your child can identify any misspelled words and underline them. If you have a dictionary at home, support your child to find the correct spelling of some of their words (focus on words that your child is likely to use often in their writing).
