Teachers

Our teachers are experienced and equipped with unique skill sets that enable them to lead with excellence. Whether its a meltdown over wet clothes, a struggle to hold a pencil, or a conflict with friends along the trail, teachers are there to support and guide.

All teachers are committed to participating in ongoing workshops and professional development courses through the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools.

Chelsea - Director

I grew up tagging along with my mother as she ran her own schools. She began sending me into the classroom to assist teachers when I was just a child myself - probably to get me out from under foot, but I learned so much! I have worked in Early Childhood ever since; in centers, preschools, orphanages, and the foster care system. Since becoming a mother myself I have fallen more deeply in love with the outdoors, which has spilled over into my early childhood philosophies and practices. I am very slowly but surely finishing up my B.A. in Early Childhood Education. I homeschool my own two boys and have lead local forest schools and tinkergarten classes.

Miss Jen - Lead Teacher

I am certified Pk-4, have my B.S. in Early Childhood Education, my Masters in Teacher Leadership, and I am a certified Reading Specialist. I am nearing the finish line of becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher and Social Emotional Learning Facilitator. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd, in charter, public, and private schools.

I pour my heart into my two year old son, Leo, as well as our dachshunds, and my husband. What I have left usually goes straight into the educational world and our neighborhood kiddos. We live on post in Carlisle as an Army Family. We love to laugh, play, sing, dance, be silly, and grow in every way together.

Last year, I thought I was ready to get back into my groove, but quickly became torn between career and home. I ultimately made the best decision— to stay home with Leo until the right balance came along. Good & Rooted has now opened the door to do both of which I love— be with my son AND teach! My son has led me down the path of allowing natural curiosities and play take the lead in learning.
