Dear GPA Parent/Guardian,

At GPA, we have always celebrated our partnership with our parents. We know, better than most schools, that when it comes to your child’s education: We are all in this together.

That fact is true now more than ever. With the worldwide pandemic causing mass disruptions to our normal way of life, it is essential that we work together to ensure that your child still receives a top-quality education, one that is in line with GPA’s long-standing mission of preparing for college.

As your child’s math teacher, I promise to use innovative new solutions to our unforeseen problems. Through Zoom and Google Classrooms your child will be able to think critically, solve advanced mathematical problems and communicate effectively with students and adults in a respectful and professional manner. It is vital that students become good self-advocators, revisit asynchronous lessons when needed, and attend office hours when necessary. At GPA, we’ve always maintained a goal of reaching and connecting with 100% of our individual students. In turn, teachers will differentiate lessons as much as possible, maintain open dialogue with students and parents (especially those who are struggling), and do our best to provide timely, continuous, and constructive feedback.

Working together we can make it through these next few months of Distance Learning. When it is safe to return to campus, we will do so with energy and enthusiasm. This is a time of innovation, creativity, and teamwork.

And I am so grateful to have you, the GPA parents, as teammates.
