The Swinburne Golden Key Chapter started in 2006 and currently has over 3,700 members.
We have been a Gold Standing chapter (fulfilling all criteria) almost every year since inception. We were awarded Key Chapter (the best) in both 2016 and 2017. Our members have won Student Leader of the Year Awards and multiple Chapter Adviser of the Year Awards.
Swinburne GK organises a wide range of engaging initiatives each year including corporate networking events, academic mixers, professional development and intellectual engagement opportunities. The chapter participated in a range of community service activities, including:
- Teaching intellectually disabled adults to use the computer.
- Reading to vision-impaired people for Vision Australia.
- Participating in the Color Run to fundraise for the Red Cross.
- Wrapping hampers for disadvantaged children in Australia and overseas.
- Crocheting blankets and soft toys for sick children in hospital.
The Chapter is a part of the Victoria Alliance (VA), the eight GK chapters in Victoria which collaborate to run various state-wide events throughout the year, such as corporate networking events, monthly social events and an annual Golden Key Ball.
Chapter news includes scholarship and award winners, and relevant information that impact our members at the local level. If you have a newsworthy item you wish to contribute, get in touch with your local chapter.
Each chapter sends out regular eNews communications to keep you informed while you are studying. The Society's KeyNews is sent to all regional members covering more extensive happennings across our Asia-Pacific region.
