Looking for something to do this winter?

Think about joining Wind Ensemble or Jazz Band!

(Details below)

Wyoming Wind Ensemble

Who: Godwin, Kelloggsville, Lee, Wyoming schools band students.

What: A group that will meet two days a week, putting together grade 4 and 5 level pieces to perform throughout the year.

Where: Godwin Heights High School Band Room and Auditorium

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00

Why: The goal is to provide students with the honor band experience on a weekly basis. Many students have communicated to me a desire to play more advanced literature within band, so we are attempting to meet that need.

Commitment: Students interested will come to the first meeting on Tuesday, November 28. At that meeting, you will be given a contract which explains expectations, procedures, and logistics for being a part of this group. If you are at all curious please attend. You will renew a commitment for each concert cycle, of which there will be at least two for the 2017-18 season.

CALLING ALL BAND FAMILIES

Each year the band students and volunteers make homemade chocolate treats to sell at the high school and elementary holiday programs. This is always one of our most successful fund raisers: Everyone loves the goodies! We will be making treats after the students perform for the Holiday Band Tour on Friday, December 8, 2017 immediately after school at Godwin High School.

If your schedule allows, please plan on joining us to help make and package treats. All Students, Parents, and other family members are welcome to help!

As we have done in the past, the Band Association supplies the chocolate for dipping and we ask families for dipping item donations.

Here is how you can best help:

Middle School Students – Oreo Cookies

Freshmen – Ritz Crackers and Creamy Peanut Butter

Sophomores – Oreo Cookies

Juniors – Pretzel Rods and Orange Slices

Seniors – Graham Crackers

Please bring all donations to the band room prior to the Holiday Band Tour on December 8.
