Community based Instruction
The purpose of Community-Based Instruction (CBI) is to improve the employment skills of students who are work bound post high school; or who may have social, emotional, or other issues that could interfere with their ability to transition to adult life.

This program provides assisting the student in learning the following job skills: attendance, people skills, customer service skills, following directions of supervisors, appropriately accepting redirection from their supervisor and many other essential skills needed to be a productive member of the workforce.
The student will work at one of the pre-selected locations in Goddard/Wichita. The student will go through the interviewing process including the job interview. They will be involved in a variety of tasks while volunteering at their selected job site. Cell phones are not be allowed while working at the job site.
Dress Code Requirements: The student will adhere to the Eisenhower High School Dress Code. In addition to the EHS dress code, the student will adhere to the following dress code while at the job site:
● No hats
● Solid color/Plaid/Patterned shirts – No writing or pictures
● Fridays only - School logo shirts will be allowed
● No sleeveless shirts
● No shorts/No jeans/pants with holes/ No sweatpants/leggings
● No hoodies
● No coats will be allowed while working
● Closed toed shoes must be worn
The same clothing should not be worn consecutive days and should be clean with no rips or holes. The student may bring other clothes to wear after returning from the job site.
Students will be graded on the following:
Timesheet completion, Paycheck worksheet, Summaries, and Evaluations.
Evaluations are completed daily by the job coach and then these will be sent home and will require a signature and then they must be returned the next day. This is part of working on responsiblity and turning in paperwork in a timely manner.
