This program is designed to help students develop essential workplace skills, including attendance, interpersonal communication, customer service, following supervisor instructions, and accepting constructive feedback appropriately. These foundational skills are critical for becoming a productive and responsible member of the workforce.
Students will be placed at one of several pre-selected job sites in the Goddard/Wichita area. As part of the program, they will participate in the full interview process, including a formal job interview. While volunteering at their assigned site, students will engage in a variety of tasks tailored to their role. Please note that cell phone use is not permitted during work hours at the job site.
Students participating in the job skills program are expected to maintain a professional appearance that reflects workplace standards. All students must follow the Eisenhower High School Dress Code, along with the additional requirements listed below while at the job site:
Job Site Dress Code
Hats are not permitted
Shirts must be solid, plaid, or patterned — no writing, images, or logos
School logo shirts are allowed on Fridays only
No sleeveless shirts
No shorts, jeans with holes, sweatpants, or leggings
Hoodies are not allowed
Coats may not be worn while working
Closed-toe shoes are required for safety
Clothing should be clean, in good condition, and not worn on consecutive days. Students may bring a change of clothes to wear after returning from the job site.
Students will be evaluated on their preparedness, participation, and completion of assigned materials. Grading is based on the following components:
Timesheet completion
Paycheck worksheet
Deposit slips
Transaction registers
Weekly summaries
Daily evaluations (completed by the job coach)
Regular feedback from job coaches will support student growth and readiness for the workforce.
