Band Weekly Update- August 5th, 2023

Parents and Students,

As most of you know, we send out a weekly update email to keep you informed about upcoming performances and important information about our band program. We had a great band camp last week. The students worked hard in high heat with great attitudes and we are already putting a great product on the field. I can’t express how excited I am for the potential this group has for this year. We had a lot of signups for helping with the band through various events through the year. If you missed the signup and are interested, please email me.

There a couple of expenses for all students in the band program:

Payable to Eisenhower High School (can be dropped off in the box in the band room)

Marching shoes (if you don’t already have a pair) - 35 dollars

Marching gloves (if you don’t already have a pair) - 5 dollars.

Band T-shirts:

Everyone needs two band t-shirts- the black band t-shirt (you can keep the previous one from middle school) and a show shirt. This and additional shirts for parents can be ordered here:

We need to have all of these orders completed by August 26th.

We are offering a couple of other opportunities this year. If you want to purchase a yard sign with your student’s name for $25 please email me and I’ll add you to the list.

Emporia Marching Band Festival: Wednesday, October 5th

Kansas Bandmasters Championship: Saturday, October 22nd

Neewollah Marching Festival: Saturday, October 29th.
