Hello all,

My name is Jakob Thomas, this will be my first year teaching at EMS and my second year teaching overall. The students can call me Coach Thomas or Coach T if they want, that started during my first year of student teaching and has stuck with me ever since. I have earned my Associate's Degree in Science from Butler County Community College and my Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Wichita State University. I'm currently enrolled at Pitt State University through their Transition-To-Teaching program earning my Master's in Physical Education. At the end of my time at WSU I student-taught at EHS with Coach Fisher in both PE and Weights, this led to me getting involved in coaching which then led e to education. I have been coaching Football at EHS for 5 years and began coaching Basketball at EMS this past year, and will begin coaching Track and Field at EMS this year. I was born in a small town in Alabama and lived there for a little bit before my family decided to move back to Wichita. I myself went to both Eisenhower schools and have a lot of pride coming back here to help develop our students.

I'm blessed to have a lot of my family live and work in close proximity so I get to see them often. I recently got engaged to my longtime girlfriend, Laura, and we are currently trying to prepare for a new school year, athletics, and plan a wedding so keep us in your thoughts.

In my spare time I like to hang out with my family, friends, exercise, and watch pretty much any sporting event. Sometimes I like to game but it's harder to find time the older and busier I get. Being from Alabama, my favorite college team is the Crimson Tide (RTR), and I have a split pro-fandom between the Kansas City and Minnesota teams (Long story). If you need someone to be able to have a sports debate while also discussing Star Wars lore, I'm your guy.
