My name is Catherine LaFever and I teach Chemistry and Physical Science here at Eisenhower High School, in Goddard USD. I'm originally from Nashville, Tennessee, but moved to Kansas in 2020. I'm so excited to be here as part of the Eisenhower High School Science Department! 💙
From the time I was very little I have loved science museums, aquariums, observatories, etc. Growing up the local science museum was one of my favorite places in the world and I spent many summers there. My husband and I enjoy traveling and learning at the same time. Our first trip together, we spent hours inside the Museum of Natural History in New York. We have continued that tradition, traveling to Alaska to visit Denali NP and see glaciers, and the Big Island of Hawaii to visit Mauna Kea and to see the East Rift Zone lava flows.
As a science teacher I have had the opportunity to study lab techniques in a college Chemistry lab at the University of Missouri, stay in the astronomers’ bunk at McDonald Observatory, TX, and visit the Space Center in Houston, TX.
