MS Solo and Ensemble

MS Solo and Ensemble will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at at Southwestern Michigan College (SMC) in Dowagiac, MI.

Solo and Ensemble is an MSBOA sponsored event.  Students prepare music provided to them by either a private instructor or band director.  They can perform either a solo or a duet. If they perform a solo, a piano accompaniment usually is performed with the solo part.  If a student needs an accompanist, a phone number of an available person will be given to them.  They should plan on meeting with this person at least two times before their performance.  A student performing a solo should plan on staying after school on a regular basis to receive help from Mrs. Redmond if they do not already have a private instructor.

If students choose to perform a duet, music will be provided to them.  A piano accompaniment is usually not necessary. They should plan on staying after school once per week to work on their music with their duet partner and a teacher.

7th and 8th grade students interested in performing at Solo and Ensemble must sign up with Mrs. Redmond now.  A $9.00 performance fee (per person, per event) is due on February 8.  If you prefer to pay with a check, please make checks payable to Gobles Public Schools.
