What is the TSIA2?
The TSIA2 (Texas Success Initiative) Assessment v.2 is a test replied upon by colleges to determine if incoming freshmen are ready for the rigors of college writing, reading, and math courses. Many students avoid remedial classes by scoring high enough on the TSIA2. The test consists of 2 sections, ELAR and Math. Both sections can have up to 68 multiple-choice questions. The ELAR section includes an essay. Because of the length of each section, we only allow students to take one section a day after school.
The test is administered on the computer here at BHS and is only $7.00 a section. The test is offered bi-monthly after school. A non-refundable payment is required 1 week before the test so we may determine the testing location for that administration. Both sections cost $14.00. The test can be taken multiple times to increase your score.
Dates for the TSIA2 will be listed on the television screens during lunch and in the hallways. They will also be announced during morning announcements.
TSIA2 Pre-Assessment (Must be completed before taking either portion of the TSIA2 test.) You complete this at home, use your personal email account when registering, and then forward the completion email to smithja@gobearsgo.net. Failure to forward the completion email will prevent you from taking the TSI test.
