【Present & History】
The University of Taipei (UT) was established in 2013 by merging the Taipei Municipal University of Education and Taipei Physical Education College.
UT's history can be traced back to the Zhishan Yan School, founded in 1895, Taiwan's first public education institution.
Over a century, UT has cultivated numerous outstanding talents in education, arts and culture, science, and public service and has nurtured many athletes who have gained international recognition.

Building upon the solid foundation of the University of Education and the Physical Education College, and with solid support from the Taipei City Government, UT focuses on three critical educational directions:
Paragon of Teacher Education,

Think Tank for Urban Studies.

UT's pass rates for teacher certification exams have consistently exceeded the national average recently.
Our teacher education students continue participating in the Ministry of Education's international and domestic Schweitzer Projects, providing educational services to disadvantaged areas worldwide.
UT has been selected as a ‘Flagship University’ and received funding from the Ministry of Education's ‘2024-2027 Teacher Quality Enhancement and Characteristic Development Project.’

UT provides comprehensive support to students and faculty from partner institutions, including airport pick-up, study buddies, language assistance, cultural activities, social events, and more.
UT offers 12 dual degree programs with global partners: 4 in the USA, 4 in the UK, and 1 each in New Zealand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Thailand.
Students who participate in the Program can study Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan for one year free of charge. After passing the language proficiency test, they can become degree students in the selected Departments at UT.
UT offers two short programs with specific themes: Mandarin Chinese Learning and Taipei Studies. These programs are customizable to offer participants an immersive study experience in Taipei and Taiwan.

Bo-Ai Campus enjoys a prime location in the heart of Taipei, offering students a unique blend of cultural richness and urban convenience. The campus provides easy access to the iconic Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and its adjacent National Theater and Concert Hall. Its proximity to Ximending, Taipei's trendy shopping and entertainment district, immerses students in vibrant youth culture, street food, and fashion. Moreover, the campus's closeness to Taipei Main Station, the city's central transportation hub, ensures excellent connectivity, making it effortless for students to explore the city or commute from various parts of Taipei.
Tian-Mu Campus is nestled in an area renowned for its international atmosphere. From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Taipei: Take the Taoyuan MRT (metro) to Taipei Main Station (approximately 35-40 minutes)
Bo-Ai and Tian-Mu Campuses can be reached within 30 minutes of Taipei Main Station. The transportation options include MRT (metro), bus, taxi, and shared bicycle.
