The project begins with an idea or inspiration that often stems from some type of discovery process.
Usually the starting point for most projects is a preliminary idea or inspiration. The discover phase is characterised by divergent thinking as a team opens a solution space and investigate a broad range of ideas and opportunities.
Questions are asked, hypotheses researched, and problem statements are formulated and based upon the research and analysis of user needs, market data, tendencies and other sources of information.
Look at this page for methods- look under the specific phase.
In the defining phase in the first year of DLAB2 we watched videos of local community changemakers and the pupils talked about how to be a changemaker (more under Introducing your class). The pupils looked at the skills and attributes which define a changemaker.
