Towards a Brilliant Future with Wood Science
木材科学と輝かしい未来に向けて
The Japan Wood Research Society is an academic society that has accumulated comprehensive and systematic academic, scientific, and technological expertise on wood, ranging from molecular biology to wood construction, and is composed of people involved in all fields related to wood. The society has actively promoted personal exchange and information exchange with people in related fields in Japan and around the world, and has disseminated a variety of results to the world. We are now planning to hold a five-year international exchange symposium with the aim of resuming the human and academic exchange that was interrupted by the Corona Disaster, fostering the next generation of researchers, and establishing new academic fields of study. This symposium is planned to be held annually with several themes to be decided each year.
In 2022, Korea will be the co-host country and the themes will be Data Science in Wood Science, Dendrochronology・Dendroclimtology and Wood Formation and Structure. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
日本木材学会は、木材に関して分子生物学から木造建築に至るまで総合的かつ体系的な学術・科学技術の蓄積を有し、木材に関するあらゆる分野の関係者により構成されている学会です。本学会は、日本国内のみならず世界の関連分野の方々と人的交流や情報交換を積極的に推進し、世界に向けた様々な成果を発信してきました。この度、コロナ禍で中断されていた人的および学術交流の再開、次世代研究者の育成、新たな学問分野の構築を目指して、5年間に亘る国際交流シンポジウムを開催することを企画いたしました。本シンポジウムは、毎年、いくつかのテーマを決め、年に1度開催することを予定しています。
2022年は、韓国を共同開催国とし、木質科学におけるデータサイエンス、年輪年代・気候学、木質の形成と構造をテーマとして開催いたします。多くの皆様のご参加をお待ちしています。
