If you are exchanging for one academic year, it is required to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) as per MOFA regulations. You will need to provide the necessary documents during the orientation, and the Office of International Relations will submit the application to the MOFA on your behalf.

The ARC is equivalent to your Taiwan Identity Card. Once you receive it, you can use it to travel to other countries as a multiple-entry document, even if you have a single-entry visa.
