Citizenship in America

This is the official website of the OES Citizenship in America (CIA) Club, where you can find material related to what we do. Citizenship in America is a nonpartisan Politics Club centered around the discussion and analysis of current national and international events. We meet in Room 81 or 82 on an irregular schedule announced in Gathering and over Email. Look through our past meeting topics, see what we've got planned for future meetings, and send us suggestions if there's something you're interested in or curious about.

Political engagement, participation, and knowledge is a cornerstone of our democracy. The goal behind Citizenship in America is to engage students in the current events of our world and promote political literacy. Citizenship in America is nonpartisan and does NOT seek to push any agenda, political view, interpretation. Instead, we seek to offer a safe, supportive discussion forum for public affairs.

Oftentimes, meetings will consist of a presentation made by the club leaders followed by a group discussion. In the past, CIA has led joint meetings with other lunch clubs such as Black Student Union (BSU) and Students Active For Ending Rape (SAFER). If you are the leader of a club and would like to collaborate with CIA on a project, please feel free to reach out!
