As referenced in the self assessment tool, Universal Design for Learning and the TPACK method can be brought together to form an infused model. In the work of Benton-Borghi (2013) in their journal article entitled "A Universally Designed for Learning (UDL) Infused Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Practitioner's Model Essential for Teacher Preparation in the 21st Century)", they describe how the two models of UDL and TPACK can be brought together to create a method of teaching that removes barriers for all students, promoting equity and inclusion in our schools.
By recognizing our own TPACK, we can then move forward into understanding how we can encourage our 21st century learners in a UDL & Technology Integration focused environment. The self assessment tool is meant to serve as a first step to this level of understanding.
