With a perfect score of 3/3, Timmy Alhabash won the SHCA School Championship and will replace Damon Mason upon departing from Falconville. This school has too many nicknames. The ceremony will take place on Friday, June 23rd, during the Gr 6 Awards Ceremony. Timmy has the chance to break the World Record of 3 terms as SHCA Champion, with a possible 7 total terms still before him.
The SHCA Blitz Championship concluded with a thrilling draw between Luca Langille and Wyatt Pokorny, in which Wyatt was down 15 pts of material but was able to run his opponents clock to 0 and force a draw. he tied with Abdul Harara for first, but won on the first tiebreak. the second tie, Damon Mason and Timmy Alhabash, was decided by a tiebreaker round, in which Timmy claimed bronze.
The SHCA Open Grand Swiss was a success, with 22 players and 55 games taking place in the 2-hour segment. In Round 4 Wyatt drew Aun, and was down half a point in his game against Luca in the last round. Keenan Watson was able to win his last round, tying Wyatt with 4.5 to 4.5 each. However, according to the Sonnerborn-Berger system, Wyatt clinched first place, and Timmy A. third after his tiee, Luca, was unable to claim his prize.

Registration for the first-ever SHCA open tournament closes on Thursday, May 11th. It will be a 5-round swiss system, with the the grand prize being a place in the 23-24 Term/Semester 1 Candidates Tournament, and the runner-ups will play a 6-game match for the same prize. Time control will be 10+0.
For the first time in SHCA history, the School Champion title has been successfully defended with Damon Mason ascending for his second cycle with the title. After a very back-and-forth game, challenger Wyatt Pokorny was able to lose a completely won position in a matter of three moves.
