Welcome to the
Pre-Primary
Play & Learn Hub
Pre-Primary provides children with opportunities to learn, build relationships, and develop important life skills in a welcoming and engaging environment. Through hands-on experiences, children are encouraged to make choices, solve problems, collaborate with others, and gain confidence and independence.
The Pre-Primary Program uses a learning-through-play approach, recognizing that children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful experiences. Through play, children develop skills across all areas of growth, including:
Physical health and well-being
Social skills and relationships
Emotional development
Language and communication
Thinking, problem-solving, and creativity
Play is the work of children!
The Pre-Primary program is guided by the Nova Scotia Early Learning Curriculum Framework (NSELCF), which recognizes children as capable, curious, and competent learners. Through play-based experiences, educators build on children's interests, strengths, and ideas while nurturing a strong sense of belonging, well-being, communication, and exploration. We value partnerships with families and create inclusive learning environments where every child is encouraged to explore, discover, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
