Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship

IWK Research Services is excited to offer the 2019 Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship.

To be considered for one of three Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarships, you must be a Grade 12 student in the Maritimes with a minimum average of 75% and must intend on continuing your education at a Maritime post-secondary institution (college or university) in a field that will enhance research and/or innovation in health care. Deadline: March 1st, 2019. Applications in guidance.

NSCC Entrance Scholarships

NSCC Entrance Scholarships now available. Deadline to apply is March 15th. Please see guidance if you any questions.

The Peter Kohler Scholarship

The Peter Kohler Scholarship is now accepting applications for students who are in financial need. Submissions will be accepted until Dec 31, 2018. Amount is $50,000.

Prime Minister's Youth Council - Be the Voice for Your Community

The Prime Minister’s Youth Council (PMYC) is accepting applications for the next cohort of members. Canadian youth, permanent residents and protected persons aged 16-24 years can apply. Apply here.

Dalhousie University Go Eng Girl Event

Dalhousie University Go Eng Girl Event is happening on Saturday, November 24th at the Sexton Campus (Dalhousie University). This is an amazing opportunity for young women interested in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field. Registration for this event is free and parents are also welcome to attend. There will be five Dalhousie Scholarships, worth $1000 each, awarded to students who participate in the design competition. This is a full day event and lunch will be included.

Halifax Regional Council Youth Advisory Committee Opportunity

Are you a student looking to take on a leadership role in your community? If so, you might be want to apply to be a member of the Youth Advisory Council. Deadline to apply is November 11. To apply or for more information, click here.

Donald R. Sobey Bursary Program

Awards bursaries valued at $2000 to students entering NSCC on a full time basis.

Apply for the Page Program

Are you interested in studying in Ottawa? Working on Parliament Hill? Making lasting friendships? Each year, 40 students graduating from high schools participate in the Page Program. Pages are first-year undergraduate students who work in the House of Commons for one year. Click here for more information. Deadline to apply is December 3.

TD Scholarships for Community Leadership

Available to all students across Canada who are in the final year of high school. Up to a $70,000 value. Deadline is November 16. See guidance for application and more information.

Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarship

You do not have to be an employee to apply. Apply asap as they are only accepting the first 50,000 applications or a deadline of December 15 - whichever comes first. Click here for more information.

RBC Black History Month Scholarship Essay Competition

Students can earn one of 30 scholarships, including grand prizes of up to $5,000. This opportunity also gives students a chance to learn about the contribution black people have made to Canadian history.

All Canadian grade 12 students are eligible to apply for these scholarships, which can help offset the rising tuition costs of post-secondary education.

Parents as Career Coaches

C.P. Allen High School invites you to join us for Parents as Career Coaches, a two-night session that will provide you with information, strategies and practical tools to help your child make informed academic, training and career choices. Studies have shown that parents play a crucial role in helping their children make career decisions. 98% of parents who have attended Parents as Career Coaches in the past have rated the program as being both “excellent and/or good”. We hope you will attend the upcoming session so you can assist your child, throughout their career journey.

Health Care Career Day

Where: Gallery of the Dr. Richard Goldbloom Research & Clinical Care Pavilion, IWK Health Centre

Transcripts for Nova Scotia Universities and NSCC

Students applying to a Nova Scotia University or NSCC no longer need to request their printed high school transcript. When you apply online and give them your student number, they will automatically be able to access your high school in progress transcript and your final transcript upon graduation.

Current students applying outside of Nova Scotia will still need to sign up in guidance for a paper copy of their transcript. Transcripts are printed Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year.
